Neckeroda Festival of Dyers and Craftspeople

The Festival of Dyers and Craftspeople will be held in Neckeroda on 31th August 2013.

This traditional festival has become one of the loveliest themed events in Thuringia. It focuses on the tradition of dyeing using natural materials. Dyers from all over Germany and Europe journey to Neckeroda to demonstrate their crafting skills and display their work. 

The festival is also attended by a multitude of other artisans presenting their crafts, such as potters, weavers and felters, as well as producers of agricultural products. 

Visitors are able to watch all of these dyers and craftspeople at work. The lovingly restored courtyards are open for visitors and there is so much to discover for visitors of all ages.

The FÄRBERforum Neckeroda (a technical seminar on dyeing) takes place on the evening before the festival and has done so since 1994.
